Every day, animals with urgent medical needs get dropped off at kill-shelters across the U.S. and every day, our inbox is flooded by emails pleading for us to save them. The majority of these medical emergencies are completely treatable, but without rescue, the animal will be euthanized at the shelter before treatment.

Otherwise healthy animals are losing their lives daily. Everyday, we make difficult decisions on who we can realistically help without taking away resources from the animals already in our care with their own veterinary and behavioral needs.

Our animals do not see the inside of small, noisy, scary shelters. As a foster based rescue, once an animal leaves the kill shelter and enters our care, they experience a warm, loving environment while they await their forever homes.

Getting an animal out of the kill shelter and into a foster home is a costly process. Animals from rural small towns require transport into one of our two locations. Oftentimes, they need to be looked over by a vet for illnesses they picked up along the way. They need food, crates, toys, litter, and other necessities. Some rescue animals, such as Blue, end up being long stay pets that require extra financial support to keep them safe, healthy, and out of a shelter.
